Bed headboard
My bed needed a bed headboard to save the wall and for comfort while reading (or using computer) in bed. This is a few years ago, and since we've rearranged the home a few times.

Creation process
I went to furniture stores but all headboards were flat and looked terribly uncomfortable. Hence, I decided to create one myself.
I went and got a piece of MDF board and some latches and got going. The design is not very complicated but I wanted the side of the board tilted for comfort.
Over the board I added some padding for cushioning and covered it all with a fabric that I stapled to the board and then added studded brass pins for decoration.
A few details worth noting:
- Cutting awat at the bottom for wall sockets and bed lamp cables
- Writing a secret/hidden message at the backside for when someone stumbles upon it
- A narrow shelf on top of the headboard for small candles for cozy-time
- I painted it all white to match the bright walls
- Attached to the side is the remote for the wireless window blinds so I could always find it even in the dark

Lessons learned
- It would be better if the bed lamps had some proper grip for attachment. This could have been easy if the sides were a bit offset. They weren't.
- The narrow shelf is actually a bit too narrow for using candles without risk of soot marks on the wall behind.
