Bronze age art copy from rock carvings

At the Vitlycke museum site by the bronze age rock carvings in Bohuslän in Sweden the staff took the time to let me try to frottera rock carvings. To frottera is to put a piece of paper over the rock with the carving, then using tracing paper wrapped around a sturdy roll of cloth (held in place by rubber bands) and rubbing this roll over the surface of the paper. While doing this the pattern of the rock carvings emerge on the paper.

I was so pleased with the picture emerging on the paper that I decided to frame it. This time I bought the frame. I've created enough picture frames in the past to really enjoy the process.
