Carrying the bellows for the portable blacksmith workhop is always a bit of a struggle. Karin came up with an idea to make a carrying bag for them. This article is about the creation process.

To be totally clear about this: Karin made all the work on these. I did none. I only display this article as inspiration to others.

Finished carrying bag

Material

We found some fabric of the same type we used for the field roof for the blacksmith workshop on sale, but in another color. We ordered a meter of it, but when it arrived we received three(3!) meters instead of one meter.

Received fabric laid out

Pattern

The idea was to create a bag that would fit the bellows up to their widest part. In the bottom on the inside a piece of leather was arranged to save the cloth from the sharp edges of the pigbear bellow nozzles.

To this tight bag carrying straps should be arranged. The bellows are quite heavy so it's nice if they are not bobbing around when you walk with them on your back so a tightening ribbon of some kind was also planned.

The bellows need to be stored standing on the nozzles since the air inlet vent othervise collapses.
